Fundamental Rights Agency

On the 1st March 2007, the European Monitoring center on racism and xenophia (EUMC) became the European Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA).

The Regulation establishing the Agencyspecifies that its tasks will be to provide information and data on fundamental rights in the EU member states in the implementation of EU law.

The scope of the Agency concerns the respect of the European Convention of Human rights and the Charter on Fundamental Rights in the application of community law.

The management board of the Agency is constituted of members from national level, two representatives of the Commission, one representative from the Council of Europe. View list here.

On request of European Parliament toe FRA is due to conduct a study into discrimination of LGBT people in accessing good and services and homophobia in the EU.

This study will be conducted and published during 2008. View a report of the preliminary meeting.

ILGA Asia is the Asian Region of the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA). It gathers 66 organizations throughout the region working for human rights and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people.
